Okay, before I come to my real journal entry...

PLEASE STOP SENDING ME THESE STUPID VIRUS ALERT NOTES!!!!

This spam-flood has been here already in february! People kept sending this stupid note around. my inbox was so full I barely saw my really important notes anymore... If you have to send the spam around, go for it, but please count me out there! It is really annoying if you are waiting for an important note from a friend and take a look at your inbox anytime you see a new note arrived and each and every single time it is one of these spamnotes!
I'm not mad at those sending them to me up until now. I know you just wanted to warn others, but please think before you spread useless spam... in worst case you might even get in trouble with the mods if you overdo it.

Anyway, what I wanted to write about...

I guess this is only interesting for my friends here on DA... those interested in my art only will see this as a waste of time probably, so just skip it

I am certain you all know these moments that you will just never forget in your whole life. Moments that for you as a person and make you to what you are now.

I came to think about these moments today again. A friend of mine talked with me and said 'Do you remember the day you changed classes and came in our course?' Of course I do. That day changed my whole life. I've always been more of an outcast... I'm pretty much of a tomboy... thats why no one in my old class ever wanted to have anything to do with me, but this day changed it all Sometimes we think of things as a bad thing as long as we are sticking in it, but turning something bad into something positive will lead us to become an even better person. Looking back at these old days made me proud of what they formed out of me... My old class-mates from back then have no self-confidence. They don't stand up for what they believe, always caring about the opinion of the masses... Thanks to the fact that I always was an outcast I won't let anyone ignore me or my believes. If there is something wrong, I point it out and stand to my opinion. I'm really proud of this fact...

Another thing I thought about today was the moment I introduced my EoT-cast the very first time xD It was in TalesUniverse, a forum about the Tales of-Series from Namco... I was already drawing on some pages back then but never screentoned or colored them xD When I uploaded a colored picture of my charas the first time there, anyone asked who the tanned guy was, unable to recognize it as Callo xD By now I can't even imagine Callo as light skinned anymore... It was such a fascinating feeling. For me it was obvious that Callo had a tan, but anyone was so surprised Yet it helped me coming to understand that I will always see my characters in a different way than others do... I know every single facet of their personality, their past, their future... Take Callo as example! Most people think of him as the good-looking elf, the death-glare-king, that rose Ary. But then again, they don't know the real Callo, or how he was before the death of his companions. Those reading my stories have a totally different insight in my charas personality than those only reading the manga.... I think of it as very interesting, and it shows me that if I want to make a good story, I have to explain what is happening in a way that someone would understand who doesn't know the story or charas yet... That was a really important lesson to me

And? I'm sure you had these moments too, right??

It makes me really happy looking back at them ^^ Maybe you should try that every once in a while as well when you are in a not so good mood or situation A situation is only then really bad if we turn it in something bad. As long as we take only the best eperiences out of it, it at least used us for the future~

Okay, guys! I'm starting a new contest!

Concerning my running poll it was 50/50 between couples and cross-overs when i looked last time (10.21 pm my time) so It's going to be these two themes...

I won't open two categories again this time, but you are allowed to submit works from either theme this time. They will be judged in the very same run!

Prizes:

1st prize: 3 month sub, 1 month feature, free sketch
2nd prize: 3 month sub, journal feature
3rd prize: journal feature

Special prize: 1 month feature, free sketch (as last time, this is given for the idea I like the best)


Accepted media: Drawings, writings, photos,... and whatever else you can come up with. There was a little confusion about this in my last contest. YES written entries are acceptable too, and if you want, photos as well though I can't really imagine how you are going to do that... lol...

Rules:
-You are allowed to submit more than one entry, but only one entry can gain a prize!
-All medias accepted
-Must have something to do with the two themes (see below)
-No 18+ content (a little mature content is okay, but don't overdo it...)
-Entries must be submitted till deadline: 15th July! (Might be extended for 2 weeks, but NOT more! You have to give solid reasons for an extension!)
-Send me a note with your entry. No messages, no comments, NOTES! (Otherwise I might forget about your entry... That'd be a real shame...)



Themes:
1) EoT-Couples. ANY pairing is possible. (With any I MEAN any. And if you want to pair Frosta with Ifrit, go ahead! xD) malexmale, femalexfemale is accepted as well.

2) Cross-over/Alternate universe. Ary in Wonderland, Captain Callo Sparrow, Yuna as Pocahontas,... Think of something nice and go ahead~ It should be recognizable in some way though... Just putting a chara in a knight-armor and saying it is a midage-movie doesn't count. Name the movie, series, anime, manga, TV-show,... in your artist-comment, so we actually know where it comes from.



How I judge the pictures:
I got some questions last time concerning how I judge the pics. I have a few criteria for which I give points:
-Idea: The idea behind a picture. If it makes me laugh, cry, happy,... A picture has to give away emotion to be really awesome. Just putting a character on a sheet of paper without pose or interaction just doesn't look as good as something that is strong in emotion and expression.
-Effort and Details: Is it a rushed picture or did someone really sit down and work hard on the details? YET simplicity can look really good too concerning how you use it. The balance has to be okay.
-My own impression of a picture: I am human, and this means I have my individual taste. To not give this point too much weight in judging I give away the 'Special Prize'
-Coloring and Style: How does the coloring look? Is the style individual?
-And the most important point: How does the picture/writing/... fit into the theme? Does it match well? Are the charas recognizable? Are they individual or out of chara?

I won't give away my exact ways of judging/giving away points as I don't want ti to end up as a point-hunt...

I can't remember if I featured =Tabon (alias Solait) in my journal-feature already, but her gallery keeps amazing me every time I take a look at and I want to share this fascination with all of you as I think of her gallery as one of my absolute favorites on whole DA!
