Woa, today an ART-RELATED JOURNAL?! DEA, WHAT HAPPENED?!

lol

Kiddin~

Nya, in fact I wanted to discuss a couple of things ^^ Yesterday I watched TV and saw in the announcements that you can buy ';Photobooks' rather cheap lately. I decided that I want to make one for myself with my best artworks in it. Like a little artbook or something~ A book I can look back on and say 'Hey, that was me in 2008/2009!' or something.... (probably more 'Oh gosh, thanks goodness I improved since then!' xD Ehehehe...)

But it faaaaaailed ;o; Why? Cause I don't have a good cover -____- Sure, I could use one of my old ones, but with a new one already in progress that would be totally silly! But the cover is so far from being done and due to the long load- and save-times for the giant file I don't really feel motivated to draw very much on it >_<

Do you guys have any advice for me how to motivate myself to stick on the cover for a while now, coloring only on this instead of restarting something new again and again?

And on another note, would you be interested in such an artbook, signed by me? Problem is, with shipping and all, I doubt it will be cheaper than 50$ so I don't guess anyone wants one.

Which picture do you think needs a place in the book??

Thanks for the heads-up everyone!

EDIT: Okay, before anyone get's me wrong xD

This 'Artbook' is for MYSELF! I'm working at a laboratory in my freetime, gaining some extra money which I usually use to either buy myself new art-supplies or such little 'gifts to myself'. I want to order a hard-cover-book with Glosspaper for 25 EURO! That makes 32-33 US-Dollar. What makes it this expensive is not for myself but for others. It is the shipping. Usually 15-18 US-Dollar. I do NOT offer artbooks here in the manner 'Hey, I'm publishing my stuff, who wants something?' I order a unique book for myself only. The offer I made was that if someone really wanted one as well, he/she could tell me and instead of one I order two of them instead. i NEVER intended to publish anything in any way here xD lol

Original Character Contest

This is a mix between game and contest. It is about creating OCs. And not just any OCs, but putting them into something already existing! And here comes the game:
You have to create a new OC that matches with a list of random words.
For example coffee, potato, pink,...

You can work the words either into the OC's outfit or into the chara-bios (there has to be both!) Each OC has to match into the complete list. (For closer information read on in the FAQ)

This contest is for fun! ;) So go as wild as you want on the OC!

Prices:
1st: 3 month subscription, 2 month journal-feature
2nd: 1 month subscribtion, 2 month journal-feature
3rd: 2 month journal-feature

Special-Price: Free sketch, 2 month journal-feature

Deadline
January 18th 2010

Please send your entries to me via NOTE! Comments on journals or my frontpage will be ignored!

This is a really weird question. But, do you hand draw your lineart or do you do them on the computer?
:icondeamond89:
I draw them on the computer =) I used to draw on paper, but by now I'm so used to the tablet that I prefer working with that. But sometimes I do traditional works too when my comp is broken or if I'm not at home ^^ lol

Is there a certain program you can get or what? I stick to pencil and paper but, they don't look all too well when I upload them. x\
:icondeamond89:
Most people use Gimp or Paint-Net as they are for free. They are pretty good for beginners but for really advanced art I guess SAI is better (costs around 45$)

I'll have to check it out. x] I don't like Gimp, I use Photoshop CS3. x]
